RDS conducted a Pickles Making Training program for 50 women beneficiaries over a period of 30 days. The training covered new methods and strategies for making various vegetable and fruit pickles under hygienic conditions, as well as marketing techniques. The women were actively involved in all stages of the pickles making process. Upon completion of the training, initial capital investment was provided to purchase necessary equipment such as grinders, glass bottles, plastic buckets, jars, cutting tools, vessels, steel basins, mats, and clothes. Additionally, vegetables like tomatoes, limes, leafy greens, mangoes, and ingredients including oil, chili powder, onions, garlic, and flavorings were distributed. Each woman now earns up to INR 20,000 per month, enabling them to become self-sufficient and significantly reducing their poverty.
We were delighted to welcome Mr. Hein van der Kolk and Mr. Evert Hoffland from Stichting Castricum Helpt Muttathara, Netherlands, who kindly visited our Pickles Making Project on January 23, 2019. The women beneficiaries were thrilled to meet them in their village. During the visit, Mr. Hein van der Kolk and Mr. Evert Hoffland observed the pickles made by the beneficiaries and discussed the pickles making activities with the women. They expressed their satisfaction with RDS's efforts in implementing the project.
