In response to the devastation caused by Cyclone Michaung, which struck Kadapa town and nearby villages in Andhra Pradesh on December 6, 2023 our emergency relief program provided critical support to the worst-affected families. The cyclone brought heavy rain and high-velocity winds, uprooting trees and electric poles, and causing widespread destruction, including homes with tin roofs and asbestos flying off. The storm left the district in darkness, cutting off communication and causing severe flooding and crop damage. Within a month, (January 2024) our team successfully reached out to 125 families across 5 villages, providing them with essential supplies such as rice, food, and sanitary items. Supported by CHM, this initiative ensured the survival and well-being of the cyclone victims, helping them rebuild their lives in the aftermath of the disaster.
