In 3 villages of Kadapa District, Andhra Pradesh, India, RDS tEAM we selected 45 impoverished men and women who were in need of cataract surgeries. Ophthalmologists performed thorough eye examinations and identified these individuals as requiring surgical intervention for cataracts. Following the necessary pre-surgical assessments, including biometry to measure corneal power and eye length, the cataract surgeries were successfully conducted. This project aimed to restore vision and significantly enhance the quality of life for these rural poor individuals, who otherwise have limited access to essential eye care services.
